About the Kibbutz

kibbutz Sdot Yam is located near the city of Caesarea on the Israeli coastal plain. It was established in 1940.

Population: approx. 710 per.

Sdot Yam’s main lines of business are agriculture, industry, tourism, and various entrepreneurs.

The kibbutz is a house to the Caesarea Antiquity Museum which displays finds from the sea bottom of fragments of sculptures, columns, coins, pottery, utensils from king Hordus’s period. Notable is also the Hannah Szenes House, which is a study center founded in the name of Hungarian-born Hannah Szenes and the paratroopers who left Mandate Palestine for war-torn Europe in 1944 to save Hungarian Jews.
