About the Kibbutz

Kibbutz Shaar HaGolan is located at the foot of the Golan Heights in the Jordan Valley area of north-eastern Israel. It was established in 1937.

Population: approx. 600 per.

Shaar HaGolan’s main lines of business are agriculture, tourism, industry (Golan Plastic Products), and various entrepreneurs.

The kibbutz is a home for a museum of Yarmukian culture exhibiting prehistoric Neolithic findings discovered along the banks of the Yarmuk River. Excavations at Shaar HaGolan unearthed a 8,000 year old village and artifacts.
